About this Course

The GDPR – EU Data Protection Foundation Course provides a practical introduction to the principles, rights, roles, and responsibilities established under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The course explains how personal data should be collected, processed, stored, shared, and protected in accordance with GDPR requirements. Learners will explore key topics including data protection principles, individual rights, Data Controllers and Processors, Data Protection Officers, Subject Access Requests, Data Processing Agreements, Data Protection Impact Assessments, privacy by design and by default, breach management, and compliance monitoring.

Throughout the course, the BlueSky Fitness case study is used to demonstrate how GDPR requirements apply in practical business situations. Learners will also gain an understanding of how ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO/IEC 27701 can support information security, privacy management, and GDPR compliance.
